AR6 WG1 last revised report and professional evaluate feedback have simply been launched
Adapted from an e-mail from David Burton
It seems that the IPCC has lastly completed their revisions to the “final” AR6 WG1 Report. This internet web page has been redesigned and expanded:
https://www.ipcc.ch/report/ar6/wg1/
If you scroll right down to the underside you will discover the heretofore secret listing of Expert Reviewers:

And right here’s the web page with the FOD and SOD paperwork, and the hyperlinks to the Expert Reviewer feedback and responses:
https://www.ipcc.ch/report/ar6/wg1/downloads/drafts-and-reviews/
Note that, till now, even the Expert Reviewers, themselves, weren't permitted to see any of this materials. Even whereas reviewing the SOD (Second Order Draft) we weren't permitted to see the authors’ responses to even our personal FOD (First Order Draft) feedback.
In the case of our FOD feedback, we’ve needed to wait practically three years to see the authors’ responses.
The IPCC’s “expert review” course of, regardless of the same title, doesn't resemble peer evaluate for tutorial papers. The IPCC treats its personal “expert reviewers” like mushrooms. The IPCC’s authors needn’t even take reviewer feedback into consideration.
Imagine an instructional journal which ran its peer-review course of the best way that the IPCC runs their “expert review” course of:
- Reviewers write feedback, the authors ignore them or not, as they see match.
- Eventually (maybe years later!) the authors write excuses for ignoring reviewers’ feedback, however they don’t even present these responses to the reviewers till after the Report is printed.
That’s how the IPCC’s “Expert Review” course of works.
Imagine an instructional journal which carried out its peer evaluate course of like that. Would YOU belief such a journal? Would YOU publish in it?
Of course not. Nobody wise would.
Then why would anybody belief the IPCC’s Reports?
