The US Air Force on 27 September awarded Boeing a performance-based logistics (PBL) contract value USD3.5 billion for the C-17A Globemaster III transport plane sustainment programme, in response to a Pentagon assertion.
The total contract, which has a nine-year, eight-month interval of efficiency, has a complete potential worth of USD24 billion. Boeing stated in a 29 September assertion that this preliminary contract runs by means of September 2024.
Bryan Clark, senior fellow on the Hudson Institute in Washington, DC, advised Janes on 4 October that with this contract the USAF is making an attempt to maximise the provision of its airlifters.
